Permits for this job
Under Alberta's Permit Regulation, changing a fixture, faucet, trap or valve does not need a plumbing permit when the piping does not change. Moving a fixture or altering the piping does, and the City of Calgary issues that permit.
Plumber and Gasfitter are compulsory certification trades in Alberta: paid work is done by a certified journeyperson or a registered apprentice working under one. Ask to see the certificate.
